For five semesters during undergrad, I worked as a Teaching Assistant in General Chemistry I and Biochemistry I and II, where I held review sessions before exams and helped students with the material as needed. I have over two years experience as a private math and science tutor for a tutoring company back in the greater Richmond, VA. During my time with this company, I have tutored 24 high school and college students, and attained over 700+ hours of tutoring. I have tutored in Honors Algebra 1, Honors Geometry, Honors Algebra 2, Trigonometry, Honors Biology, Honors Chemistry, AP Chemistry, AP Biology, AP Calculus AB (I received a score of 4 out of 5 in high school), and SAT Math. I am also capable of tutoring College-level General Biology and General Chemistry, as well as Biochemistry. I want to be a tutor because tutoring to me doesn't feel like work. It feels like a reward, because I enjoy seeing you, the student, grow and improve and go to places they never dreamed was possible. I treat my students like friends. That way, I understand your habits, your thought process, and your reasoning. I find that my students and I work the best when we are more personal together because it facilitates a stronger communication and trust. You would never be judged for not understanding the material in a timely manner.
